This is a dog-run area where dogs are always permitted without a leash. 

Dog owners are responsible for control and clean-up of their dogs.

 Standard dog laws apply on other portions of Ocean Beach and are strictly enforced.

There is no bathroom directly at OB Dog Beach, however there is one on the adjacent beach at the South end of the OB Dog Beach parking log.

This bathroom is frequented by a large variety of people and it’s recommended to proceed with caution.

There are both plastic waste bags and trash cans to throw dog waste in.

San Diego law requires all dog owners clean up after their pets.

Yes there are two popular swells at OB Dog Beach. It’s recommended to use caution however as there may be feces in the water.

Please exercise caution around all water especially the San Diego River outlet on the North side of the park, as currents can become dangerous around tidal changes.

You can! City beach rules apply for humans and their pups, but feel free to bring a few chairs, cooler, umbrella, etc.

Due to the number of off leash dogs running around chairs are suggested over blankets.

Dogs are generally allowed north of the Ocean Beach Bikeway, but are prohibited between the path and the Ocean Beach Pier off-leash.

Fiesta Island – Mission Bay Park

Dogs are allowed in all areas except for the Youth Campground and Least Tern nesting sites (seasonal). Daily 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM, this area offers calmer waters than the ocean and sand dunes to run on. Be aware of ocean and trash hazards.

Located at the west end of Voltaire St., this off leash dog beach is one of the most popular in San Diego (24 hr. off leash).

North Beach Dog Run – Coronado 

Located on Ocean Blvd. near Sunset Park at the northern end of the beach next to the U.S. Naval Station entrance. Dogs must be leashed until you reach the beach. Foot shower and free dog litter bags at the entrance to the run (24 hr. off leash).
